FDA enforced a product recall against Wild Coast Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula frozen raw pet food available in 16 oz. and 24 oz. packaging units. The FDA issued recalls concerning Large Chicken Boxes together with Small Chicken Boxes made by Savage Cat Food.
The main cause of bird flu infection in pets occurs through their consumption of bird flu-contaminated food.
Savage Cat Food distributed these products throughout California, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington territories.
These recall actions affect both the Large Chicken Boxes (84 oz) and Small Chicken Boxes (21 oz) released by Savage Cat Food.

The affected products went out for distribution in November of 2024.
Bird flu illness is spreading
Bird flu has caused illness in two cats because they consumed products from this food brand based on FDA reports.
The company initiated the product recall before laboratory confirmation of bird flu in the food because of safety concerns.
The FDA urged that, in case of recalling products, “immediately return it to their retailer for proper destruction and a full refund,” aol.com reported.
